Crashing while sitting in Sandbox

I wouldn't necessarily call it Crashing, but it just turns the game screen onto the very first thing it saw when I tabbed into it. While on said frozen screen I can press Tab, Alt or Escape for my cursor to appear but nothing can be done further.
Its super annoying because I can't make my own builds without sitting afk in a match.
