Celeste 4 (Shining Wonder) Ally Lock-On Bug

Is it really a bug? Or rather, if it is, couldn't you argue it's a good feature? That ally could be a vessel to run into the enemy to continue the chaining again.
AFAIK it cannot bounce to enemies at all like this. The only way it was able to detach from the ally was through switching to the enemy team

I read just now. Yes, this is indeed a bug. And making it bounce on allies to do something extra would be overloaded or potentially cause your ability to self gimp.
