Having this issue too. At first I thought it sometimes worked and sometimes didn't, but I think I've found the issue: It seems you are not able to cancel a slide into a jump when using dash + slide on flat ground. It works when doing it down stairs or when doing dash-jump and then slide.
Made an account just to bump this, as I'm now experiencing the same problem. Started after a small 4.3kb update that happened today. I didn't have the issue during a game I played a few hours prior.
Like @Harva says, it only happens when I carry the momentum from a dash-slide. In any other circumstance where I'm able to perform a slide, I can jump out of it while continuing to hold the button.
i have been messing with this and i discovered if u dash and then crouch at the last second of ur dash u will be able to jump after the dashslide, im not sure if they intentionally got rid of this but if they did they should keep this way atleast
Yes, you can not jump while sliding if grounded.
Only when sliding after being not grounded. Ramps and curbs make you not grounded. So you can jump after sliding on them.
People in the movement "scene" call this -something- buffer I can't remember.
Airdash into slideis a tiny bit slower than Dash into slide.
But grants you the possibility of jumping when sliding and combo/chain slides, so you will get further with the same stamina bar.
If you know you are going to hit ramps, it's better to ignore everything and dash however you want. But if you buy superior stamina, airdash becomes much powerful than "ground" dash, so keep in mind.
