Black Screen during load / navigation

Only recently ran into this issue after several days of playing (At least since August 8) without this issue occurring. I assume it's related to an update but can't pinpoint what's causing it just yet.

My issue is the black screen happens consistently after interacting with the game. it'll start black screen (not showing the usual VALVe logo), but then displays the intro video correctly after a few seconds (Audio's going on correctly the entire time).

Hitting escape (esc) during the intro sequence to get to the main menu faster also consistently causes the issue. Tabbing out then clicking the program also causes the issue.

Clicking on the screen after this cutscene does not trigger it, but clicking on items (Play / Heroes / Settings / etc) causes a short 2-3 second black screen. Mouse movement does not seem to affect the issue, just navigation.

Changing settings back to default does not appear to resolve the issue as well.

Hadn't attempted a game since this issue started. It doesn't appear to be Fullscreen / Borderless Window related. Reverting back to default visual settings doesn't seem to affect the issue (still happens regardless of settings applied)

Verifying game files does not seem to resolve the issue. uninstalling and reinstalling the game doesn't seem to resolve the issue.

Game's installed on a side drive (M drive) as opposed to the C drive. Don't THINK that would cause an issue, as it never showed these symptoms since playing.

Any thoughts? I know i did a drivers update previously but i've played the game several times since that update and didn't encounter issues until today (Sept 4, 1 PM CST)

Similarly, the game is still STABLE. No signs of a memory leak / unhandled exception or things of that nature. It'll just sit there and black screen on / off while the audio still runs. And, once the black screen is removed and normal visuals are restored, the game shows no 'we've encountered an error' situation. Based on this, i think it's something to do with the DirectX 11 + AMD Drivers issues from a recently pushed update that's causing it. Can't replicate the behavior with other non-Deadlock games (such as Balatro, Bingle Bingle, VRChat, Rabbit & Steel, Slave Zero X... All run more or less fine without the above error)

Update: Navigating to the Sandbox (in between black screens), the game does load successfully. Normal gameplay items like running / shooting / ability activation / death & respawn runs successfully without the issue occurring.

But, going to the Item shop re-triggers the issue. Same with purchasing / selling / browsing builds / selecting build / exiting browsing. Even mousing over items within a build causes the 1-3 second black screen issue.

Holding the Alt key to bring up the menu operates fine, but 'select hero' gives the same black screen issue. Same with the Escape key for the in-game menu.

I'm thinking this is a handled error on 'the UI has changed on the screen' that's causing the error, but that's a layman guess.

Update 2: doing a windows restart seems to have resolved it for now. I'm actually chalking this up to GPU hardware failure / issues as opposed to the game, as other games (Balatro) started showing the same kind of errors.

Strange and stranger. AMD, you gotta make better stuff, man.
