Banned after failing to load into game

I queued up for a round, only to be stuck on a loading screen the entire time. Upon failing to load, I try queuing again only to receive a message that I am banned for 6 hours.

After simply failing to load into the match.

Why? Why am I being punished for simply failing to load in. There is no way to get around this, and I know I wont be unbanned by posting anything to the forums, so why am I being banned because the game failed to load me in after staying on the loading screen for a minute?

I want to second this issue as a bug, but even moreso because I *exclusively* play bot matches (I don't even have a rank), so it makes even less sense.

I logged on to play a few games, the match was stuck on the loading screen for at least 5 minutes before it spit me back out into the hideout. I figured there must have been a server bug or something, tried to requeue again for bot matches, only to discover I had a 6 hour ban.

First of all - 6 hours? I've never had a ban warning before in my life, but jumping immediately to 6 hours seems excessive.

Secondly - a 6 hour ban for failing to load into a BOT MATCH? I understand bans for real matches with real people, but it's bots! There's no rank, there's no people to upset! Why is there even a ban system there in the first place?

I've been failing to load into matches since I started playing in December, and only just after this Apollo release have I actually gotten banned for it.

My laptop is not the greatest, so I sometimes don't load into the game after matchmaking, I just see the deadlock logo spinning on my screen while my friends ask me if I've loaded in and who I'm playing, before eventually the game kicks us back into the lobby. I've never actually had an ban (or even a warning) from this, until the night Apollo came out. On my first queue after his release, I didn't load into the game and I was given a 6-hour ban. I was obviously disappointed, but I just waited until the next day to try Apollo out. Today it happened again, where I failed to load into the game before it started, but this time I was given a 24-hour ban.

My friend who rage quits lane phase every other match has gotten less penalty than me, so why am I being punished just for not having hardware capable of quickly loading the game??

same here, i have this experience over few weeks, and didnt get any feedback from dev team, and no response on it, feeling upset on this, so annoying

Likewise, I've been having the same issue. Just had it tonight, in fact.

First it was while struggling with graphical issues that choked my PC's overall performance, so I bailed out, lowered the settings to something more manageable and smooth, and got a 12-hour ban when I resolved that, and also shoved into low-priority.

Then it was after a severe freeze on my end that came without warning, and locked up on me. My controls were technically still useable, though impaired (I could hit escape, but there was no menu, no feedback of mousing over buttons, there was no sound of things around me, just a frozen shot of Rem running forward. Closing and reconnecting just got me stuck at a frozen loading screen again the moment I reconnected, with the feedback of Paige dying in the distance, to the game assumed I just reconnected even though I was incapable of actual play), and waiting for that match to finish without me so I could ACTUALLY play normally again, resulted in a 24-hour ban because I was absolutely unable to respond to game visual while connected. Which again, placed me in low-prio (with a higher win-demand).

Now, I just plain failed to load into the co-op bots game "in time" because I hadn't loaded up the city prior to joining a queue for a bots match, and now I'm banned for five entire days????? Because I failed to load in for the first time??? (Edit: My low-prio demand has been UPGRADED to demanding six wins to escape low-priority, for failing to load into a BOTS GAME.)

That just punishes low-end setups for no good reason. My only takeaway from this is to just, boot up "Explore NYC" prior to queueing so that the game has the damn map already loaded once and ready to go with all the props and creep camps, for the next time I get into an actual match after I get unbanned.

Except the problem is, I shouldn't have been banned in the first place because of the technical limitations of my system, which aren't easily resolved in this current tech-economy climate. The fix to avoiding being banned for "taking a little too long to load in the first time" shouldn't be "just get a better system lol".

Very frustrating, every now and then I fail to load in and over the course of the week have been getting bans of increasing length, I am at 24h now :/

Maybe I had too many things running in the background? If the issue is on my end I can't troubleshoot effectively because I need to wait 24hs to at least attempt loading in again
