Ban out of nowhere

My friend got banned for a day, for a strange reason. We tried to log into the match, but my friend couldn't connect to it and he remained standing in the lobby and his game froze. Timer for connecting to the match has ran out and he never loaded in and then decided to log out of the game through the task manager.

The next day, when he logged into the game, he noticed that he was banned from the time of the failed game.

There is no solution to this im afraid.
After they got the timer of connection to 1 min and 40 seconds the banns started happening again.
Weird that they changed it. When it was just 1 min for the connection window it was working properly and if you couldn't connect you wouldn't get punished for a game that haven't even started.
