"Avoid this hero" is incorrectly counted as a selected hero in parties of 3+

I was getting an error message about "too many new heroes in your roster" but there was no warning prior to pressing play:



but if I remove the "avoid" selection on Lash then I do properly(?) get the message telling me I need more heroes selected:
