Alt Fire Melee

This has to do with melee locking a gun. If you melee while reloading, it will pause during the punch.
Same with heavies, it reloads during the charge, but not the punch.
If there was a bar that filled up before you could shoot in-between shots (your cycle time), the bar would freeze also.
All heroes suffer from this, but slow fire rates are where it is most apparent. Eg a Fast (0.1 cycle time) and a slow (0.5) fire rates can shoot 1-1.1 and 1-1.5 seconds after melee respectively.

I would like the devs to show a cycle time on the HUD somewhere, but its probably to much bloat. Maybe conditionally if you fire rate is slow enough.

If your fire rate is slow enough and you hold alt fire and heavy melee, you will only get one off every second charge.

I also just discovered really big and important tech, if you reload -> punch you suffer the freeze, if you start reload in the punch you don't. Saves time I guess.
 
indicator would be nice, but it is crazy that this fire-lock is a constant time, even if i scale my gun firerate to maximum - as soon as i melee, i cant shoot for full duration just the same as if i had 0 firerate items. it is promoting me to not use cool combos and instead spam alt fire :(
