In many cases, the line-of-sight algorithm for AI entities does not take into account small protrusions in terrain or environmental objects which will block shots. This results in situations where troopers get deadlocked trying to shoot each other, and causes much annoyance for me when I play turret McGinnis. Some notable examples:
Both sides' blue walkers will try and fail to hit enemies on the side of this truck (more reliable with troops).

McGinnis turrets will often shoot the tops of the stairs outside bases trying to aim up/down them (happens both while defending and attacking, but is much more pronounced when defending). This makes turret emplacements at the tops of these staircases, which theoretically should be good choices, a terrible decision because your turrets will just get locked shooting at things they can't hit and will be easily picked off.
