Aghanims Scepter, Aghanims Shard

i agree vaguely, but i think it should be tied to AP somehow rather than items/soul economy directly. i don't think it would fit cleanly into vit, gun, or spirit categories cleanly.

maybe objective based somehow?

I see what you mean, I think it definitely has a big impact how you play the hero. Personally I think placing it in spirit makes the most sense.

Make it 3k souls, 10% weapon damage, 50 bonus health, and no need to add spirit power cause at t3 it gets 12. It's underwhelming stat wise, but that's not the point right? It's good because of how it changes your spells, and possibly playstyle.

the way abilities modify based on level is already like aghanims imo. maybe there could be a set of "aghanim items" that fulfill various arcehtypes in the game. making them objective based/pve sounds good interesting

The way abilities level up already feels like talents with the final level feeling like an aghanim's effect. The third level of every ability is transformative instead of just the ultimate or new skill unlock in DOTA. Tying AP to leveling and objectives makes it a more dynamic choice than having an item that takes up quarter of your slots that already have ways to transform your abilities.

I don't feel like these need be necessarily mutually exclusive. But I do agree that it doesn't really fit the way Deadlock is laid out.

One thing I am absolutely amazed by in Deadlock is how dynamic items feel. Every single hero can build from practically every category and try different items and still be effective - I don't think I have ever seen that in any moba. Aghanims would have the potential to skew that - as some heroes will really always want it regardless of the match.

I think Aghs should fundementally change the way a hero is played allowing smart teams to play around it in the esport scene.

For example you could have the following aghs effects:
  • Haze's ultimate changes to now provide AOE invis for her team and increased movement speed for 10 seconds - Haze basically becomes a support hero
  • Pockets ultimate is changed to now create a large uncontrolable ghost that is able to cast his 1 & 3 on cooldown - Allows pocket to either avoid a team fight or use it to push a lane
  • Vindicta's ult is now an rocket launcher that deals AOE damage and AOE heals - Makes her a backline support
etc.
