Did you even understand what you wrote?
The turret is invulnerable for 4 seconds, but after those 4 seconds, it doesn’t drop souls.
Souls drop only if you don’t hit the turret at all.

This is what everyone's telling you. If you fully damage it before the 4 second period is up it goes into a dying state, after which it dies and does not drop souls.

If you wait to fully damage it until after the 4s period is up it will immediately die and drop souls.

This is not new behavior and has behaved this way since the minimum lifetime was added in the 12-06-2024 Update.
