Additional melees extend firing lockout from melee

High fire rate characters can usually fire between melees quite easily. But in the event that they do manage to hit the timing to experience lockout, additional melees extend the timer, preventing them from shooting at all until they wait it out.

In this video, I am holding down shoot the entire time. But once I experience lockout, it lasts until I stop meleeing and wait for it to end.
