Active Reload re-press window shows incorrectly when you are doing something else that doesn't stop the reload such as casting abilities, I pressed the reload button again in this window countless times but it would fail every time.

I can't replicate this and I believe I know why.
You're reloading too quickly after executing the dash command. Try for yourself in sandbox, no items: dash and immediately press reload. You will see a delay in the reload animation even beginning.

Essentially you must wait half a second or so after beginning the dash animation before you press the reload key. Then you will be able to make use of the active reload function.
 
Found the same issue.

Using active reload, if you melee on the highlighted portion and then reload right after, it fails the reload

You pressed the reload key while you were still locked in the melee animation. You literally have to wait for the reload bar to start moving again before you hit reload. If you hit it while it's static, it does not count. This is intended behavior.

I understand that. (Ty for explaining) However, it doesn't make sense for the reload to fail if you're locked into the melee animation, or any other animation for that matter.
Technically, you can't fail something you can't do at the moment.
 
Who can say whether it's intended or not, I guess. If they change anything about it I would assume the game would just ignore reload commands while locked in the animation. But I kinda doubt they'll make a reload press while the bar is frozen automatically reload once the animation finishes.

Agreed. Personally, it would make sense ignoring reload commands until whatever animation finishes.

But either way, I agree with the conclusion that if reloading during a melee animation results in an 'inferior' reload somehow - then reload commands should be ignored during other animations; as opposed to making me fail my Active Reload despite it being visually in the green.
