5 man party

Really need to reimplement 5 man party matchmaking, cant even queue together although we play 99% of our games together as a 5 stack. Gets put into wide skill range instead, looking at stats all of us are pretty even between each other.

Relatively bad decision to gatekeep 5 man parties when game is still in beta especially for unranked, understandable if this was for ranked but being cucked out of unranked is just wild

I believe this was done because the 6th person is unlikely to do as well simply due to not being in the same discord call as everyone else, therefore making it a wide skill range. I remember there was an explanation of the 5 stack somewhere, but I can't find it.

Sounds like a pretty bad reasoning on their side then, really sounds like copium from people who dont know how MOBAs work. If your team doesnt communicate which is majority of unranked MOBA games, you learn to read your map and watch your team's movements. Its not an excuse that the 6th guy cant do well just because they cant hear their team.

Most MOBAs use average MMR to matchmake anyways, aka really no reason to lock out unranked parties of 5

Most valve game I know lock out max party -1.

Lots of moba game won't let you to do max party -1.

So if the game is 5 team game, you can't do 4 stack party, if it's 6 team game, you can't do 5 stack party

I believe there's an undeniably good reason for this, in most if not all moba type game.

No like thats the thing they locked it out for RANKED, which I understand. But these games you can queue for -1 parties in unranked

Ah yeah you're right, they shouldn't lock it out for standard/casual mode, I forgot about that since I always play on ranked in moba game.

Just here to say that I also agree that this feels bad. My friends and I almost always play as a 5 team and now someone always has to be the odd man out. I think that I am the one who is getting the wide skill range tag, and I know that I am not better than my friends, I think I just have more overall time played (so maybe how better players are labeled also needs to be considered further?).

To me, it is what it is, no need to discriminate against the 5 person team. If I'm solo queuing, I also don't expect things to be perfect. I think it would be better to continue working on it or to just allow it as opposed to banning it altogether.

Our matchmaking hasn't been perfect, but we have fun regardless. Even in some uneven match-ups, we've still managed to fight back late game and get the win, which always feels the most rewarding. All in all, it's super disappointing that I can't continue to play with the friends that I have been playing with since day one of playing Deadlock. I hope this gets reworked.

They really need to come up with some sort of solution for this. My friends and I all started the game together, all played together for all of our games and suddenly one day we just CAN'T play because of this skill gap? It is a really bad idea and my friends are considering quitting the game all together. They'd rather not play at all than not play together. Make a special queue for 5 person lobbies and allow the 6th person to join knowing that they will likely be with a group. Give us literally any option other than this...

I would also like to chip in and say 5 man queue should be re-implemented for unranked. My group regularly runs into the issue of having to flip a coin to see who sits out, it's hard to get a sixth person. We play less because of this. I joined the forum specifically to give this feedback.

If you're sitting in a 5 stack and aren't communicating anything to your random who is trying to win then how are you surprised to find out he has less info to go off of? Like, communication is a massive part of the game. How does staring at the map tell him you suddenly want to back off to go farm jungles? The amount of times I've initiated in MOBAs seeing my team is 5v3 only to see them randomly back out at that moment because someone in their call told everyone to back and I didn't hear it. You think communication wasn't important there?

So basically its a skill issue/have no friends
