5.8 Freezing and FPS Drops

Graphics look better but can’t set them lower. Had no freezing issues prior to latest patch.

It’s not like fps drops it bottoms out randomly and screen freezes for multiple seconds especially when a lot is going on. Reading other players having same issues even after outline hotfix.

Please re-enable potato mode.

+, running on i7-8550u mx150, teamfights still impossible, I reduced the resolution to 70-80% is better but i feel like i'm playing without my glassess, teamfights are possible on 50~60% only. I didn't have such problems before this patch.

Would it be possible to disable some visual effects? Some of the new effects are non-switchable through settings, from what I see in game, even if I set up the lowest settings, they're still there

+1, i have a similar issue, had no problems durign the initial patch. Some matches are free of this problem though, other matches started freezing during mid to late game fights. I'm on win10, all my drivers are up to date, rtx 2060, ryzen 7 9800x3d. I have no major FPS drops, just straight 1-3 second freezes

Update 16.05

Seems like my issue is getting fixed via patches.

Haven't had any problems in matches played on a fresh instance of the game (i was restarting the game after each match). I dunno if i still have the freezing issue, will try playing 2-3 matches in the same game instance today.

Update 16.05 (2)

Yep, it's fixed for me, hooray for mr. valve

Still not fixed. DDU and game reinstall didn’t help. Please allow us to set lower graphics settings. Whatever it’s stuck to now is not working with my gpu

Have been working and not able to check the recent micro patches. Hope this is fixed though this is my main game and it’d be quite sad to not be able to play for the foreseeable future

I have been having the same issues over the past few days with them slightly getting better with patches however during mid to late game team fights it just dies for 3 seconds when I try to cast an ability I have tried adjusting the settings but same issue. Outside combat otherwise good performance.

Issue only now seems to happen in matches and no longer in the training room.

Specs:
Intel Arc A770 (16GB VRAM)
Intel 13th gen i7-13700F
32 GB of RAM

Maybe arc issue with the new video settings? Just checked still same results and all settings lowest besides reducing the resolution size.
Only playing in 1080p at 144fps. Tried some other things like fullscreen, lower fps, and vysnc but it would still freeze randomly.
Tried some other stuff with the gpu software like low latency, tessellation, and some other things. No luck and no updates there either.

So I ran a couple games this morning 19/05 after a nice little 8mb patch and noticed it has gotten better to the point its no longer making the game unplayable I ran 2 games one against bots and one online game. Offline I found no issues similar to the training area after a few patches and with the online game I had only a couple stutters when a lot was going on usually when a wall was placed by McGinnis and I or someone else were popping an ability at the same time. I also noticed just better stability and was easily hitting 165FPS for most of the game with it only dipping to 140FPS (Outside the stutters)

So I think since there last big patch they updated the graphics a bit and there just refining them to work better and with each patch its getting more stable so I would say its just a waiting game which is to be expected of a very early access build.

Just tested hero tester after another patch and not having the freezing issues anymore gonna try out some multiplayer

I have no idea why Valve doesn't even care about game breaking bugs such as this one, but yeah after all is free game lol maybe that's why they don't care about game breaking stuff, their deadline is to finish ASAP to get money then fix bugs
