Ok, this is happening on a different computer running Linux Mint, fresh install. I'm starting to think this could be tied to my steam account?

this problem seems very cryptic but i hope it'll get solved so i can play again at some point.

I've been getting this exact issue on my side with no mods. i thought it was my janky setup breaking down but i think there are like 6 people on earth with this same issue, and all with different setups.

are you possibly on linux or, even crazier, Mac? because I've been getting this EXACT crash on my mac, in the exact same way.

Ok, bunch of new info on this: Resetting all settings has not fixed the issue. other people also running the game on crossover ON macOS 26.1 are NOT having this issue. The randomness implies a threads bug of some sort. the last line in the log is: 88(4.146062): ReadSteamRemoteStorageFile(...
