The thing is, it wasn't needed. Nobody asked for it. We spent months adjusting the ranked mode. And they just went and threw all that data away. That just doesn't make sense. It's like they want to kill the game.

Do you really believe that people who want to play are just unable to do so? Check steam discussion section of the game. Even logically speaking, the more people are already in the easier it is to get in, it spreads similarly to a virus. So decreasing player count doesn't really make sense.
