I agree with it being an active, as it would give it bonus combat capabilities by letting you pop it in a teamfight to make yourself harder to hit by gunfire. Making it an active would also add a kind of balance by making it less appealing for heroes who would like a lot of active items.
Heavy Melee works better in moments where it's unexpected: around corners, coming out of veils, etc. By endgame I personally have a very easy time getting a good heavy melee in and then punishing futher with gun damage, which makes people parry less, which means I can melee more often. Also...
A friend of mine accidentally declined an earlier invite to Deadlock and now isn't receiving any invites at all. Is he just screwed? Can I request he be manually invited?
I don't know how this would exactly get fixed but it's a bug and I'm reporting it.

When spectating, you can toggle camera control with J, and go back to free mouse temporarily while holding ALT. However, you cannot click the faces at the top of the screen to spectate characters while holding ALT. You can select them in the map, which is why this seems like a bug.

I'm fine with the text becoming italicized as long as the ligatures are the same. The "a" and "y" in "Play" and the "e" and "k" in Deadlock are just straight up different characters.
