This is particularly painful when you're trying to provide reasons / orders in item purchases on the categories themselves and slows down iterative theorycrafting.

Clicking the clear search `X` icon button doesn't clear the shop search. Doesn't seem to be dependent on the mode you're in, only option is to select all + delete.
