Figured out the issue, steam overlay was disabled. Somehow that disables controller support entirely. The issue now is that controller inputs can move the menu cursor or pause the game (esc) in any way.

I haven't played the game in a bit so I don't know when this happened, but the game is unable to detect my controller at all. Whether I use steam input, big picture mode, or whatever else, the game does not detect I am using a controller whatsoever. I am aware however that steam deck is still...
