Yea either of those would be good. I was thinking some sorta image / symbol would prob be better than numbers or letters because of the subconscious prioritization they lend. we need to help lane 1 more than lane 3 b/c it's 1 so the devs think it's more important.

They could use an additional designation that is color agnostic, such as numbers (lane 1, 2, 3, 4) or directionals (left, mid-left, mid-right, right). Most modern games have support for colorblind people, by allowing them to select their own colors. the directions could further cause problems...
