Steamdeck works great!
However, I'm sure any new player would prefer a generic FPS Shooter layout, perhaps with Skill 1,2,3,4 on Dpad buttons?
Or maybe Hold L2 to swap face buttons to skills? Either would probably be a much smoother introduction to the game.
Quick Cast options? Double tap a direction to Dash? Toggle Crouch?Toggle Aim? Auto Mantle?
