Never mind it does work correctly

Lifestrike is on quick melee is meant to double the cooldown but instead it just has no cooldown.

If Calico reverts form during the start of Ava's pounce and then holds the melee button Calico will repeatedly perform heavy melee's without the associated animation as I assume Ava's pounce animation is overwriting the heavy melee.
