yeah this is significantly more complaints about it than normal, something is definitely up. (might want to just forgive all leaver low prio games when they fix it).

oh yeah, ive had that one a lot. (basically any time you alt tab there is a slim chance the game just decides to tell you to go fuck yourself and won't reopen)

They don't even have to be textually portrayed as the villain if its truly a setting thing, but the creator of the work has to be making a statement by the absence of condemnation.
