Like leech, the healing is based on the damage dealt. So you have to invest something into weapon damage in order to heal for any significant amount.
I would say most items don't have drawbacks other than the opportunity cost of the soul investment and the item slot...
Same thing happened to me:
1. Queued with McGinnis on highest priority, Paige mid, and Geist lowest.
2. With McGinnis selected on the hideout, entered store screen and editing mode on her build.
3. In the middle of editing, found a match.
4. Match loads and I'm on Paige. The store screen...

Cost: $3200
Stats: +10% Weapon Damage
Passive: Your bullets will ricochet towards a nearby ally after hitting an enemy hero, healing them for a percentage of the original damage. This cannot heal you. 35% Ricochet Heal. 1 Ricochet Target...

2. Launch the game.

4. Game crashes.
The crash can be avoided by waiting for the "pre-compiling shader resources" (or something like that) popup to appear before pressing rejoin on step 3.

It happens a lot when I'm carrying the urn and I drop it, sometimes without other effects on screen.
The lag stays after...
According to patch notes:
- Mirage: Enemies that have already been hit by Fire Scarabs now let the next scarab projectile pass through them
This isn't the case at the moment, tested on sandbox.
