I just had a match where my tickrate was abysmal and the game was essentially unplayable. This even persisted after rebooting my game entirely.

It may be due to the spectator list view having too many matches, and your friend's match is too far into the match list pulled from the backend? I had the same problem last night and the match list said something like "2000+ live matches" at the bottom.
