Trophy collector at it's core is a flawed item that both punishes you for excelling and failing to complete the condition of participating in a bunch of kills. It can only really be bought on 1 hero and in many situations it's by far the worst thing you can buy

This game has a lack of items that give bullet resist that are not pure tank items, leading to most people being negative bullet resist during teamfights as everybody buys bullet shredder and thus dying extremely quickly without any chance to react.

I can't really visualise the distance in this game yet so maybe the distance/chance is too high.
I think its better as passive so it has the natural drawback of sometimes pushing enemies away when you want them to be closer like if you are chasing them which makes the item situational

+20% fire rate
+10% ammo
30% chance on hit to knock back enemies hit by 5 to 2 metres depending on range from target
The idea is to be able to spam shots to move an ulting hero who is required to be still out of position to grief their ults or knock a hero who is chasing you away...
