Xom, the Drone Lord (ability switching character)

One of the interesting things about this game, is that along with supernatural events, there are weird creatures roaming around. I have an idea for a character that changes forms, allowing you to change your playstyle mid game. For looks, id like some mix between the thri-keen from dnd, and Boris the animal from men in black

Lore:

Xom was hatched amidst the teeming chaos of an insect colony deep within the ancient Redwood forests of California. Unlike his brethren, Xom wasn't a typical worker or soldier. He was a rare morph, with the extraordinary ability to molt his chitinous exoskeleton and assume different forms. This ability made him an outcast, an enigma even among his own kind. But Xom thrived in the shadows, honing his shapeshifting skills and developing an unwavering loyalty to the enigmatic queen who ruled the colony. But the queen he held in high regard has become ill, giving birth to misshapen kin. His brood did not have another to replace her.

The illness wasn't a natural one. It manifested as a strange, shimmering blight on the queen's exoskeleton, draining her life force and weakening her telepathic connection to the colony. The healers were baffled, their herbal remedies proving useless against this unknown affliction. Driven by unwavering loyalty and a gnawing fear, Xom sought guidance from the colony's oldest storyteller, a wizened creature with memories stretching back generations. The storyteller spoke of a hidden legend, a whispered tale of a powerful entity known as the "Patron," a being residing in the bustling metropolis of New York City, rumored to make bargains in exchange for acts of violence. And so he set out, keen to make a deal.

Ability Prelude

So for his abilities, i kind of wanted to create a character than can play any role, from spellcaster to tank to right clicker. Every time you level a skill, your given a chance to switch it out for a different skill. For example if you picked up a close range tank attack at level one, you can later upgrade the skill and switch it out for a ranged weapon damage skill instead. You can also mix and match spells, with each spell giving a visual signifier (I.E, a tank spec spell that gives you a damage shield would visually give your character more chitin along their body, and a melee slash ability would give a mantis arm). With that being said, lets jump into his different forms, and their abilities.



Juggernaut Form Abilities:

1: Mandible Grab:
Xom latches on to a target, dealing dot damage and follows their movement.

2: Winged Assault: Xom jumps forward towards a location, slamming down on nearby enemies.

3: Morph Carapace: Xom turns into a ball gaining a weapon resist, and any damage taken pushes him in the opposite direction.



Stalker Form Abilities: (These abilities should probably scale with weapon damage instead of spirit to fit the concept better)

1: Stinger Strike: Xom fires a stinger that slows the target. Low cooldown.

2: Take Flight: Xom uses his wings to fly. gains decreased damage falloff. He can passively attach himself to walls.

3: Ambush Strike: Xom lashes out at a nearby enemy, jumping away from them in the process.



Drone Form Abilities:

1: Mind Bolt:
Xom attacks an enemies with a psionic blast, silencing and interrupting movement abilities for a second.

2: Mind Swap: Xom creates a duplicate from an egg, and can swap places with it at any time.

3: Phantasmal Assault: Xom creates illusions that continually attack a target. applies a dot to the target.



Ultimate Ability:

Warren Morph:
Xom encases himself in a chrysalis gaining a weapon damage shield while creating a field that roots nearby enemies in place.

I think it makes more sense to create a specific character defining ultimate instead of one per form, but im also open to creating additional ults.
