Stylistic choices in item name translation

For simplicity's sake items are just transcribed for the most part, with the exception of expanded magazine and a few others.

However, I don't think this fits the games aesthetic at all. This is for multiple reasons, 1st of which being the historical usage of Japanese being adverse to such loan words at the time of the setting, and 2nd of which being that many other games such as League of Legends, although a bad example, have item names localized relying solely on transcriptions.
As it stands, this is already how the Chinese localization has it, the names of items and groups (Amber hand etc.) are adapted into fully Chinese counterparts. The same should be done for the Japanese localization in my opinion.

This is not to mention that most take up 2 lines on the item name preview in the catalogue which is unappealing to look at.

I myself am not a native but I am proficient in both Languages so below are just a few suggestions to get the jist of things (some may be the exact same as it currently is whereas some may end up being the exact same as the chinese):

Using words from Japanese dictionaries:
  • Amber hand:アンバー・ハンド→琥珀の手
  • Extra health:エクストラヘルス→HP強化
  • Extra regen:エクストラリジェネ→回復強化
  • Sprint boots:スプリントブーツ→疾走靴
  • Tankbuster:タンクバスター→徹甲弾
  • Curse:カース→呪縛
  • Fortitude:フォルティチュード→剛毅
  • Magic Carpet:マジックカーペット→魔法の絨毯
Using newly coined words (probably bad idea):
  • Counterspell:カウンタースペル→反術

Doesn't need a change:

  • Focus lense:フォーカスレンズ

Such a change would be hard to get around for the Japanese speaking community, but at least judging from twitch viewership and how easy it was to get a game while i was living there last year, the playerbase is still small so it is still feasible if this is considered a worthwile idea.
