❰ Intro ❱

Hi! Thank you for clicking on this thread to check out my concept, I really appreciate it!
This is my first time designing an OC, not to mention doing it for a Valve game (I love Valve).
I do want to clarify that I didn't think too hard about lore and ability balancing, my boyfriend helped me with most of that aspect. English isn't my first language so I do apologize if i made any mistakes along the way.
I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed making this into a reality!

❰ Backstory ❱

EYES ONLY TOP SECRET

DATE: 14 November 19██
SUBJECT: Asset Acquisition & Deployment Briefing
SUMMARY OF ORIGIN
Subject was surrendered to the Crown in infancy by biological parents following a biological discrepancy during birth. While the female infant appeared physically standard, the second twin was not a physical human baby, but a living shadow that shifted into a form—hereby referred to as "Shade".
The parents abdicated all rights to the Ministry. Since the age of ten, the subject has undergone psychological and physical conditioning to ensure peak combat performance.
MISSION ORDERS
Conditioning is deemed complete. Effective immediately, she is assigned to Operation REDACTED.The subject will be mobilized across the Atlantic to the New York Precinct. She will be ordered to partake in the ritual to summon the Patron and finalize REDACTED objectives. For the duration of this mission, she will be identified only by her codename: LONDON.
Director of Special Operations
"God Save The King"

Summary
-London doesn't know much about her past. All she knows is that she is a government operative for the Crown, working in the supernatural division, and her assigned name is "London".
-For most of her life, she would go on various missions for the Crown. She never knows why she goes to these missions, but she does them anyways.
-Her goal for completing the ritual is to establish connection with the Patrons and then contact the Crown, who will take it from there.

Let's use Holliday as an example to help explain how London's abilities will work!

London Trick Shot Concept Pt.1.pngLondon Trick Shot Concept Pt.2.pngLondon Last Words Concept.png❰ Playstyle ❱

High risk, high reward. London is a hybrid hypercarry hero that can deliver high spirit damage. With precision, her abilities can easily turn the fortune to your favor, or the other way around if you use them wrong.
London is not the strongest in close range, she performs best when placed in the backline, where you can deliver great burst spirit damage with your abilities. A well placed Trick Shot can decide the outcome of any fight; your ultimate, despite being already strong, can be even stronger if you gained stacks from other heros' deaths, at the cost of putting yourself at risk by going around the map to gain stacks. Vanish is a great passive to help you gank other lanes or get to a safe position. Shade's Passage may seem overpowered at first, but if you are against a team that does high spirit damage, using it late game will be a death sentence.

❰ Voicelines ❱

These are heavily working-in-progress, but here are some of the general ideas.

Using Trick Shot
  • London: Bang.
  • London: No one will see this coming.
  • London: Wait for it...

Landed Ricochet
  • London: Got you.
  • London: Bet you never seen this one before.
  • London: Shhhh...

Missed Ricochet
  • London: You moved!
  • London: Damn it.
  • London: I will get them next time.

Using Trick Shot at Low Health

  • London: (*in pain*) I got one last trick...
  • London: Right where I want you.
  • London: You didn't think you could win, did you?
Yamato
  • London: I'm sorry for your loss.
  • Yamato: I don't need your pity.
Drifter
  • Drifter: Did the British Empire finally decide they want to try their hands on killing me?
  • London: No. My directives does not include killing you.
  • Drifter: Just because you aren't told to, doesn't mean you can't try.
Drifter Bloodscent Hunting
  1. Drifter: I will find you, even in shadows.
  2. Drifter: You can't hide from me, kid.

❰ Inspirations ❱

Before playing Deadlock, I played a lot of Dota 2. If you realized it already, then you know Muerta and Death Prophet are the two main sources of inspirations for this character. I love the idea of dual-wielding characters and so far Haze is the only one in the game. My boyfriend then gave me the idea of making her guns like Ebony and Ivory from DMC, and I had a blast designing her weapons.

❰ Bonus! Behind the Scene ❱

"What if instead of having a normal reload animation, she just drops her guns and Shade picks them up and reloads them for her?" - My boyfriendLondon Reload Concept.png

"Everyone I shared the art with says her guns looks like Malfeasance and Thorn from Destiny 2, and I can't unsee it.
Honestly I'm gonna take that as a compliment, Destiny has amazing lore and gun designs." - Me, multiple times.

Dang, this is a great concept. I was hoping someone would suggest a British operative/spy, and I think you’ve definitely designed it well. One thing I might suggest to change is the third ability? Maybe instead of the invis being exclusive to rooftops, you just fade faster on the roof compared to the ground? Another ability that could work in place of ability 3 could be something similar to the grappling hook from AC syndicate, where she can latch on to rooftops and climb up easily? Nice work overall, and hopefully the devs see your idea.

Thanks for the feedback! Funny thing is, originally I did plan on making her 2nd ability a grapple hook, and AC syndicate was my EXACT inspiration, as well as Ada Wong. Maybe I should have sticked to that idea, because it sounds a lot cooler.

The ideas are very cool except 3 for me. Idk tying an ability towards geometry of the map can end badly and might be hard to balance
