Headshot Booster & Sharpshooter inconsistencies

Damage fall-off on the Headshot Booster seems bugged; on heroes like Haze, if the enemy is afflicted by a debuff like Fixate, Headshot Booster deals 50 damage with no fall-off. Geist's Malice also causes this.

Sharpshooter is similarly bugged, randomly causing damage with no fall-off. In addition, the two seem to have a weird interaction where if you have Headshot Booster and Sharpshooter, one procs the other with no fall-off damage, depending on which item was bought first. (If Booster was purchased first, it applies the 100 damage from Sharpshooter with no fall-off.) If afflicted by a debuff like fixate, both items will proc without fall-off for 150 extra damage.

can we punish players who are exploiting these interactions every game despite being told about this unintended effect and continuing to do so? it's creating an unfun environment for everyone on the opposing team right now, who do not always the ability to counter gun damage with no fall off appropriately.

additionally, when this interaction is patched, these bug abusers will no longer have the same impact on the game, ruining all future matchmaking games for his team, and creating an unfun and uncompetitive gaming environment.

i'd say it's not within the spirit of the alpha to ruin innumerable games with this unintended mechanic, and i do hope that there is some recourse to be had for these types of abusers

its also just creates bad data and feedback for the devs when players die to these bug abuse unaware of whats happening and go on to give feedback thinking the character / item intentionally works that way

thanks for the support everyone, I have been seeing this more frequently in higher elo lobbies and not too happy about it. hope we can get some adjustments on this interaction soon! just also wanted to say thanks to the dev team for their work on this, I know they probably have a lot of competing priorities

What's the bug meant to be? Doesn't fixate increase the damage dealt, Sharpshooter is meant to increase damage to enemies OVER 20m, it says the minimum distance is 20m for it to be proc'd. I don't think anyone is bug abusing here, nor should they be punished for using the item as how it's described. you can around 100 on headshots at that distance from a lot of heroes, Haze just does more damage from this because of fixate.

the damage is obviously bugged though

a single stack of fixate taking headshot damage from 7 to 53 is definitely not intended

I shot the dummy in the head with dynamo, got 110. I shot the dummy in the head with haze, got around 107. (both with headshot and sharpshooter) and with fixate on 30 with no upgrades it gives me 150. so I dont think it's bugged. At the same distance as in the video at the top. It just seems like headshot damage isnt consistent.

Oh no, I see what you're saying now, without sharpshooter haze is still doing more damage then she probably should at that range without sharpshooter. so fixate might be a little wonkey.

also in the video above, the issue begins off of just a single stack of fixate, not 30

it's based off the debuff, but it's getting abused with these headshot proc triggers by giving players the ability to nuke ppl for ~150+ dmg at range with no fall off

I think a huge part of the alpha currently is fine tuning the MMR system and matchmaking in general. They will get to this kind of stuff when they get to it, but as of now - there have been 6000 threads and 10000 messages sent. They see the feedback! Don't sweat it!
Remember. . . Closed Alpha.

You're absolutely right, and that why I acknowledged this here:
